Rug Cleaning

 Using a variety of materials and color options, a cloth binding is sewn along the rug's edges to prevent/fix worn and fraying edges.

 Usually being the first area in need of repair, damaged or uneven fringe portions can be re-secured or re-aligned by hand to prevent further damage to the knotted tassels. 

 Also referred to as selvedge or overcasting, this is the process of replacing/repairing the edges of a rug (by hand or machine) using overlying stitches to prevent unraveling.  

 Requiring high attention to detail, precision, and patience, This time-intensive process repairs damaged areas of the rug (due to years of heavy foot traffic and/or moth damage) by reweaving in the same manner the rug was originally constructed.
